Whether you’ve hired caterers in the past or not, you’ll have a lot of questions. The questions below have been compiled by our team. If you have a question you don’t see here, please email us using the form below!

Can I choose one of the menus on your website?

The sample menus on are website are provided as an inspiration or starting point only. We prefer to customize each menu to each individual client. After meeting with us, we will be able to offer you a menu that reflects personal as well as seasonal choices.

Are you able to accommodate special dietary needs?

Absolutely. We have a vast menu and can easily accommodate any taste, restriction or particular need. Our initial consultation starts with customizing your menu to your event. It’s our goal to make your experience just right AND delicious.

What areas do you service?

We are based out Halifax, Nova Scotia, with a second location in Windsor. We serve HRM, central Nova Scotia including Truro and area, Chester and the South Shore area and the Annapolis Valley. We have been known to travel to areas such as Shelbourne, Yarmouth, Bear River, Digby and New Glasgow. Call or email us to find out how we can help with your event.

I am booking months in advance. Are your prices guaranteed?

The prices quoted are based on current market costs of product. Events booked in advance may be subject to change if there is a significant change in product prices.

Do I need to rent anything? Do you take care of that?

The size of your event will determine the need for rentals. We can take care of all china, cutlery, glassware etc.

What are your terms of payment? Is a deposit required?

We do require a small deposit to hold the date. A secondary deposit is due three weeks prior to your event and the balance due immediately following.

Do I tip the staff?

Gratuities are not imposed upon you but are welcome if you feel the staff has gone above and beyond.

Can I pick up catering?

Absolutely. We can prepare a custom menu for you!

What if I need to change my date?

Given enough notice we can easily accommodate a date change.

Can I change my menu once it has been confirmed?

We are usually able to accommodate changes made at least six days prior to your event. Let us know when you confirm your event with us if you anticipate any adjustments.

How much notice do I need to give for a catering request?

Depending on our schedule, sometimes we can accommodate last-minute requests. Call us at either our HRM number, 902-420-1614 or our Windsor number, 902-472-7200, to discuss your needs with us.

Will Cocoa Pesto work with my Event or Wedding Planner?

Yes, we often work with Event & Wedding Planners. We will do whatever it takes to meet the expectations of your day.
